Barnacle Buds
By Becky Ristic
The first time I was taken to Barnacle Buds I thought I was going to be murdered. Tucked away between a few industrial buildings off of Bay Street in Bay View, Barnacle Buds is a favorite hangout for those who can find it. My first experience was unforgettable, which was surprising since I was half in the bag. I got to eat tons of Barnacles famous (and delicious) buffalo wings, wash them down with some Spotted Cow on tap, and people watch.
On the warm Milwaukee Nights, Barnacle Buds is the place to be. We all know people
love their patio seating in the summer, and they aim to please. Neighboring the Milwaukee
River, captains can anchor
down for some grub and jam to Jimmy Buffet covers. The menu is just as quirky as the items on the walls, not selling
hot dogs to married women,
and asking you to choose between good service or good food. Good food such as their crab cake sandwich or appetizer,
burgers, ribs, catfish, and those delicious wings. Barnacle Buds makes itself a relaxing place to get a fish fry and hang out with friends. Easier to find by boat than car, this restaurant is a fun place to enjoy a few beers and get some great food.
