Tonic Tavern
By Katie D
They say Bayview is where hipsters
go to die (or rather grow up.) But here is where you’ll also find an amazing bar tucked away on the busiest corner of KK. Just don’t accidentally
walk-it’s really set back in there. This old no man’s place has turned hip. What used to be a horse stable and garage is now a trendy bar called the Tonic Tavern. It has kept that garage-hangout atmosphere, but with a sophisticated twist. A giant patio precedes the garage
doors opened in good weather, to a well decorated lounge with a contemporary fire place, that is quite entrancing,
next to the inner chords of a baby grand. The bar is in the back with a growing selection of beers, booze and plenty of table space. Their great selection
of music brings this trendy bar back to Bayview grounds with a slight older punk/alternative
rock sound. It is a good spot to hang outside in friendly company close to home in a more laid back atmosphere. Later in the night, it gets pretty crowded as the music gets louder, but can be quite refreshing
from the neighboring bars.
